3 Mini Reviews

I am reviewing three books that I read earlier this year and took my sweet time reading/listening to. Here we go:

Amazon.com: The Poet X (9780062662804): Acevedo, Elizabeth: Books
The Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo
Format: Ebook
More info: Goodreads

I was very hesitant to read this book. I am not of a poetry person. I can only take a few poems at a time but I can never find myself engrossed in a book written in this format. However, this one completely grabbed me!

I fell in love with the main character, Xiomara. The way she described her emotions and the events in prose really called to me. I found myself feeling frustrated, sad, happy, inspired, and hopeful. I had no idea I was going to be so emotional with this book. I rate it: 5 stars

Getting Out of this Funk

Hello dear readers,

I hope all is well with you and that you and your loved ones are safe in this terrible situation that we are in. I honestly pray that each and every one of you are healthy and out of harm's way.

My husband and I are doing our best to be safe by staying at home. When we do go out for essentials, we make sure to sanitize everything we touch or bring back to our home. It definitely changed our daily life routine. We are both working from home, we're finding different ways to entertain ourselves behind walls (we do miss hiking so much!), and we make sure to give each other space for personal time. We're mostly trying to stay positive and stay sane.
