Lol.)

Hi, Vonnie!

Very interesting answers! We were pretty much on the same page for all of them, too. For question 5, you brought in an additional angle that I didn't mention in my own answer, but I totally agree with it. I think the best answer would be a combination of yours and mine.

Your answer to question 6 is also similar to mine, but I like the fact that you have emphasized Bo's insistence that Isra should not be forced to make the decision to give herself to the roses. As we both know, Junjie was even willing to kill her!

In question 7, you made a great point -- it wasn't only the queens who could be sacrificed to the roses. The kings could have been sacrificed, as well. That's additional proof that the society of Yuan (as was probably true of all the other domed cities) was one in which men dominated, and women had no power at all,.

So we've come to the end of our second read-along! It's been a lot of fun comparing answers with you! And I'm now looking forward to our next read-along, whenever that might be!! : )
Maria Beharhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13635809880830316283noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3593764416339527990.post-46759003888303935492014-04-30T13:09:22.037-07:002014-04-30T13:09:22.037-07:00This comment has been removed by the author.Maria Beharhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13635809880830316283noreply@blogger.com
