Friday Hops, 7/11/13

This hop is hosted by Billy over at Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer. Every week participants answer a question and then visit other blogs participating. The purpose of the hop is to give bloggers the chance to meet new bloggers, get to know one another better, and get new followers. This week's question is:

How long have you been blogging?

A: I have been blogging since June 3, 2012. I celebrated my one year blogoversary last month. It amazed me to realize that a whole year has passed and I was still blogging. I was hesitant at first to start my book blog because I thought that I would lose interest in it quickly and/or I would not have any time for it. Look at me now! :)

Book Beginnings on Friday is hosted by Rose City Reader and The Friday 56 is hosted at Freda's Voice.

Blood to Bone by Don Hoesel

The beginning: "Jack hesitated for a moment, calculating the risk of distracting Romero before reaching over and swatting the tarantula from his friend's shoulder."

Page 56: "The cold feeling in Jack's stomach was returning. He looked over at his silent wife, thankful she couldn't hear their entire conversation. 'Which means I have to go back,' Jack said. 'I have to trade myself for the boys.' "

A very good book so far. Reminds me of Indiana Jones.

I am participating in the blog tour for this book. Come back on Tuesday to read my review. :)

  8. Aaah, Tarantula's are just too big to be allowed in the spider family! I think they're firmly in monster territory! Blood and Bone definitely sounds good, I hope you enjoy it! Thanks for sharing :)

  13. Hi Vonnie,

This is two posts in a row you have published, where I have been adding new authors to my list.

This series of books sounds excellent, although I think I shall have to go right back to the beginning of the series to get personality of Jack Hawthorne into proper perspective.

Your featured excerpts definitely swung this one for me, so thanks for sharing.

    Have a great weekend,

    Yvonne
