Finding Sheba by H.B. Moore

My Thoughts: I was captivated with this book after reading the title. The Queen of Sheba was a mysterious woman who might have existed or not, and her history/mythology has always fascinated me. Thus, I was looking forward reading this book. Finding Sheba was a fun read because it had a mixture of adventure, romance, and suspense, as well as historical facts.
The book had a very interesting plot: the fight over where Queen of Sheba ruled. I was captivated to read how the Sheba played a role with the Middle Eastern conflicts over land ownership. Different groups worked in their power to keep the truth behind the Queen secret, and they made sure to go to all lengths to preserve the secrecy. This lead to very exciting scenes in the book, which had me guessing back and forth of who the bad guy was.
Along with that, it was great to learn more facts about Sheba and the cultures of the countries that Sheba affected. I'm not sure how much of it was exactly true, but I came to have a different understanding of the Middle Eastern cultures. It also inspired me to further look more into these facts.
There were many characters that were introduce in the book. My favorite was Sheba herself. I liked reading her chapters because the story was transported to the past and I came to see what a remarkable woman she was. I also enjoyed reading the other characters like Jade and Lucas, but Nicaula (aka Sheba) caught my interest the most.
As much as I enjoyed reading this, I have to admit that I was confused many times while reading. In the beginning, there were many characters that were introduced and each chapter followed a different character. There were different stories being told, but they were all connected to finding the truth behind Sheba. It took me a bit to get used to the constant transitions, but when I did I was able to speed through the book.
As a whole, I quite enjoyed this book. My favorite aspect about the book was the historical information that I learned. I rate this:
