Friday Hops, 2/21/14

This hop is hosted by Billy over at Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer. Every week bloggers answer a question and then visit other blogs that are participating.  This week's question is from Silver's Reviews:

This annoys me, how about you? When I click on a blogger's name and it goes to their profile and I see more than one blog listed, how do you know which one to visit? I usually don't visit.

A: This doesn't happen too much with me since people tend to leave their blog links with their comments. The few occasions that I had to click on the blogger's name to check out their blog have not been that bad. I have not encountered too many people with multiple blogs. Those that I have, I read the titles of each blog and click on the one that sounds more "bookish" to me. Of course, I rather not do this so it's not often that I click on a blogger's name. I only do so when I REALLY want to visit their blog.

Book Beginnings on Friday is hosted by Rose City Reader and The Friday 56 is hosted at Freda's Voice.

Too Much Temptation by Lori Foster

The beginning: "Noah Harper stood frozen in the carpeted hallway of his fiancee's house while his skin prickled with some vague, unsettling emotion."

Page 56: "His tone brought out her wariness. 'Drunken men, sex talk, the combination of the two. It doesn't mean anything.' She shrugged and again retreated. 'It's okay, Noah, really. If I'd been thinking, I'd have realized...well...' She glanced up at him, then away. 'I'd have known you didn't want me.' "

I've had this book for over five years in my TBR pile. Maybe it's time that I finally give it a try. Has anyone read this?

  1. I have read Lori Foster before but I have not read this book before. Sounds as though it could be decent. I always like when the female mc thinks the guy could never be interested in her and it turns out he is more than just a little interested! Thanks for sharing. 3. Vonnie, I went back and added a synopsis from the publisher about The Mermaids Singing by Lisa Carey. I don't see anything about actual mermaids. The novel is about three generations of women on "the Island of the Mermaids" off the coast of Ireland. I hope you'll come back and read the information I've added.

  7. Haven't heard of this book, but it sounds pretty good! I do sometimes have to "track down" a blogger and then it's a bit annoying, but you do get to explore all their different blogs so bonus point there! Thanks for sharing :) Hope you have a good weekend!

  8. Too Much Temptation sounds like it would be fun to read. The opening made me wonder what's causing that "unsettling emotion" and I'd read more to find out.
Here's the link to my Friday post: CAKE.
Thanks for the heads-up about the annoyance of finding multiple blogs for a person. I need to check my profile to see what it looks like! In the meantime, it's a good practice to leave a link.

  9. I'm a fan of Lori Foster but haven't read this one. It remind me that I have a few of her older books on my Kindle. I hope you are enjoying the story. Happy reading!

BTW - I am one of those annoying people who have two blogs. Both are book blogs but I separate my adult books from my YA reading in case any of my students find my blog.

  12. I haven't read this one, but I'm pretty sure I read an anthology that included one of her novellas.

It sounds like a good romance!

  14. When you go to my profile, I have 3 blogs. I sadly fit in the category of what she hates most. Oh well, can make everyone happy....
Sounds like an interesting book you got there... I have seen her books around but yet to read one.

    Happy weekend!

  15. I don't mind so much and I today learn't how to leave my link in the comments!! Although I think I used to leave my post details rather than post. My link is here

I've read quite a few Lori Foster, from memory, I did enjoy that one, it was a long time ago. She can be quite funny. I love her SBC fighter series, (apart from My Man Michael - I can't recommend that one at all!). Hope you enjoy it :)

  17. I completely understand why people have multiple blogs. What annoys me is when the bloggers asks for me to check out their blog but don't leave a link. So I have to track them down and get stuck when I see multiple blogs.

    1. Oh, I didn't read the Friday Hops question when I visited before! I totally understand about being annoyed that you can't find the link to visit the bloggers at, especially with multiple blogs. I think I've done that sometimes, but I blame all the different comment platforms. Some blogs use bloglovin to keep track of comments, some use blogger, some use disqus, etc, and I had to sign up at ALL of these just to leave comments. Also, the ones that use the regular blogger commenting system, these can be set to allow anonymous comments, or name/url, etc, but some only allow you to leave a comment if you sign in to google, and then the link brings you to the google profile of the person. Which really didn't work for me because of all my OLD multiple blogs, and I had to set up a new google account and switch back and forth all the time. It's annoying, and I still don't know how to navigate my way through all the commenting systems, so sometimes I miss replies or end up replying late, and TBH, I'm not even sure if all my commenting platform profiles lead back to my blog.
