Moving on doesn’t always have to mean goodbye. Widowed makeup artist Jane Sullivan is more comfortable keeping her husband's memory alive than dating a pool full of sharks. Ella, her 4 year-old daughter, is her whole world. When Jane meets Lucas Oliver, famous cover model, it’s hate at first sight. His playboy persona rubs her the wrong way. Accustomed to every woman fawning over him, Lucas is drawn to the shy, uncompromising single mom and completely melts at the sight of Ella. He is determined to convince Jane that sometimes a second chance can mend a broken heart.

My Thoughts: I have to admit, I was drawn to this book because of its title. I immediately imagined "Tarzan's" caveman-like voice reading the title. It lead me to believe that this contemporary romance story was going to be a fun one. To my delight, it was.

I have to admit though that the book started off a little slow for me. I was completely turned off at the idea of shallow male characters with humongous egos. Jane's disdain towards Oliver seemed unreasonable yet believable, thus I found myself doubting Oliver's character. However, the author gave glimpses to Oliver's true character in these first few chapters that kept me reading on in hopes that everything was not what it seemed.

I am very glad that I continued reading. The story began to show great depths into the characters. I learned more about Jane and came to understand as to why she had prejudices towards men like Oliver. I also sympathized with her because she was still heartbroken about the death of her husband. Next, realizing Oliver's true persona was a relief. He turned out to be such a wonderful man who adored Jane's four-year-old daughter, Ella. Oliver was a great example as to why people shouldn't judge others before getting to know that person. Last, it was exciting to read how Jane and Oliver's relationship turned to a hate-at-first sight (mostly on Jane's part), to liking each other, to finally falling in love with one another. The fact that it wasn't instant love earned high points for me.

One thing I do wished this book had was multiple point of views. As much as I enjoyed having Jane tell the story, I would have liked to have read certain chapters through Oliver's eyes or at least followed Oliver in the third-person. There were certain scenes in the book that had me curious to know as to what exactly Oliver was thinking. It would have also helped me clarify if it was more of a lust-relationship or a growing love for Oliver.

As a whole, this was a very well written book. Yes, it started off slow for me but it quickly picked up to show wonderful characters. I was able to sympathize with Jane and I came to love Oliver. I rate this book:
