Bad, bad, Vonnie! I am slacking off on my posts! I meant to write my review of this weeks ago. Grrr!!! Oh well...Here goes!

Read by  Kirby Heyborne, Arielle DeLisle, & Emily Durante
Length: 10 hrs and 4 mins

Four years ago, 19-year-old Travis Brown made a choice: to raise his newborn daughter on his own. While most of his friends were out partying and meeting girls, Travis was at home, changing diapers and worrying about keeping food on the table. But he's never regretted his decision. Bella is the light of his life. The reason behind every move he makes. And so far, she is fed. Cared for. Safe.

But when Travis loses his construction job and his home, the security he's worked so hard to create for Bella begins to crumble....

Then a miracle: A job in Raleigh has the power to turn their fortunes around. It has to. But when Travis arrives in Raleigh, there is no job, only an offer to participate in a one-time criminal act that promises quick money and no repercussions.

With nowhere else to turn, Travis must make another choice for his daughter's sake. Even if it means he might lose her.

My Thoughts: As I was searching for other audiobooks read by Kirby Heyborne, I stumbled upon this one. The cover, and especially the title, grabbed my attention. I had no idea what to expect from this book since I did not bother to read the synopsis. I simply started to listen to it without any expectations. And boy...it was pretty good!

The story did start off a little slow for me but it picked up tremendously about halfway. It started off with a young man named Travis trying to leave his daughter with a stranger. It almost sounded as if Travis was trying to abandon his daughter. This immediately peaked my interest because I wanted to know why Travis would do such a thing. The plot then jumped between perspectives which lead up to the reason why Travis was leaving his daughter Bella.

Throughout the audio, I was fascinated with the idea of a very young man, Travis, raising his little girl all by himself. Of course things did not go as expected and Travis and his daughter Bella were found homeless. Travis' love for his daughter encouraged him to continue surviving and to find work wherever he could. It was also interesting to hear Erin and Robin's perspectives, though at first I did not understand why the story was written this way. It made sense about halfway because their insights added more depth to the plot. When Travis received the mystery job, I was not expecting how things all of a sudden shifted. It sure had me biting my nails!

For having three narrators, this was a very entertaining production. Each reader did an excellent job in portraying their characters. They were able to capture the essence of Travis, Erin, and Robin. The shifting of characters' perspectives was executed in a smooth manner that had me engaged the whole time. I was never bored listening to each narrator read their part.

Overall, I was glad I tried this audio. I had no idea what it was about at first so I was wonderfully surprised on how much I ended up liking it. The three readers in this audio were fantastic; they made the story come to life, especially during the second half of the book. I rate it:
