HIS Review: It was a great audiobook. I loved listening to it while on a road trip through Northern California. The book was written and read by Tina Fey, but it wasn't just all about her. There were lots of mentions of her family, friends, and coworkers that made the book feel more like a story and less like a memoir. I loved all her stories about growing up in Philadelphia, her time at SNL, and her show 30 Rock, but I especially enjoyed all the anecdotes about her father. He was the closest thing to a "character" the book had, and from what Tina wrote, he sure seemed like a bad-ass. The book provided plenty of laughs and really showcased Tina Fey's wit, humor, and intelligence. A must read or listen. 5 out of 5.
HER Review: This was a fun listen to! I've always admired and enjoyed Tina Fey. It was fun to hear about her memoir. She recounted her life as a teenager, having lesbian and gay friend during college, getting her first pap smear, working in SNL, and being a mom. Tina made many snarky jokes that had the hubby and I guffawing out loud.
The best part about the book was Tina Fey read the it herself, which made things even more realistic and hilarious. I'm not sure I would have felt the same way if I read the physical book. With the audiobook, we were able to pick up the punchlines more and listen to how the her memoir should really be read. Plus, she had the actual audio of the Sarah Palin skit; this would have been awkward trying to read it instead of listening to it.
Overall, this was a fun audiobook. I gave it 4 stars.
