Audiobook: Of Poseidon by Anna Banks
Read by Rebecca Gibel
Time: 9 hours 34 minutes
Emma and her friend Chloe are spending vacation in Florida. When Emma (literally) runs into a hot guy named Galen on the beach, little does she know he’s a prince of the Syrena. Galen and Emma both feel something strange–is it attraction?–and Galen suspects that Emma might well be the girl he’s heard of–a human who can communicate with fish. What follows is a deadly scene with a shark in which Galen witnesses Emma’s gifts. He must know more about her, and follows her back to New Jersey, and high school, to find out for sure if she’s the key to saving his kingdom. Soon, Emma can’t deny her feelings for him, but can’t explain them, either–and both she and Galen must learn more about where she comes from and what her powers are before they can trust one another and their feelings. Told from both Emma and Galen’s points of view, here is a fish-out-of-water story that sparkles with intrigue, humor, and waves of romance.

Cami Checketts
Every stage actress wants fans, but what happens when one goes too far?
Emmy has the perfect life— a house on the beach, a successful career headlining the local theater, and love. But when a brutal murder brings unimaginable grief, Emmy’s world comes crashing down. As she tries to pick up the pieces, she can’t seem to avoid Josh, the new fireman in town.
Emmy does her best to fight the sizzle in her chest when Josh is near. But with the stalker still out there, terrorizing her and those she cares about, she can’t fall for anyone—especially Josh, a suspect in the murder investigation.
If Emmy allows a man to get close, it’s not just her heart she puts at risk, it’s her life.

Bout of Books 12 Wrap-up!
Bout of Books #12 is over! Wow! I can't believe how fast time flew by.
My goal for this read-a-thon was to concentrate on reading my books for review since I have fallen behind on these. Though I didn't read as many books as I was expecting, I was able to get some off the list. Yay for me!!!
I am going to continue reading these books for review for the rest of the month, and perhaps half of February. I really need to get these over with so I can tackle my humongous TBR pile.
So what books did I accomplish for BOB?
Bout of Books 12: Day 7

The end is almost near!!! I'm taking a slight break from household duties before plunging myself into some intense reading. I did not have the chance to create a post for day 6 but here's 7.
Here's the book I finished this morning:
Review: The Last Garden by Jorge E. Ancheytta
In a remote mountain hideaway, Heidi, her brother Checo, and their cousin Coco live with some of the last humans on earth. Their world was destroyed long ago by a force known only as The Shadow, and only a few survived. When Heidi's and Checo's father crosses over to the dark side, the trio is called upon to find and rescue him. They learn that their father possesses the key to the mystery of the world's destruction and possibly the answers to their future. Armed with three instruments endowed with special powers, Heidi, Checo and Coco bravely descend to the dark side, not knowing what they'll see and who they'll meet. Joined by Koby, a dark side inhabitant, who is on their side, the teens seek both the man and the truth. What they discover on their adventurous journey is far from what they expect, and they soon find themselves faced with the task of saving both their own lives and the lives of those they love.

Hmmm...today wasn't that bad. I was able to finish my audiobook (finally!!!) and I was able to get back to a book that I started months ago.
Here's the audiobook I finished:
Audiobook: Death Comes to Pemberley by P.D. James
Read by Rosalynd Landor
It is 1803, six years since Elizabeth and Darcy embarked on their life together at Pemberley, Darcy’s magnificent estate. Their peaceful, orderly world seems almost unassailable. Elizabeth has found her footing as the chatelaine of the great house. They have two fine sons, Fitzwilliam and Charles. Elizabeth’s sister Jane and her husband, Bingley, live nearby; her father visits often; there is optimistic talk about the prospects of marriage for Darcy’s sister Georgiana. And preparations are under way for their much-anticipated annual autumn ball.
Then, on the eve of the ball, the patrician idyll is shattered. A coach careens up the drive carrying Lydia, Elizabeth’s disgraced sister, who with her husband, the very dubious Wickham, has been banned from Pemberley. She stumbles out of the carriage, hysterical, shrieking that Wickham has been murdered. With shocking suddenness, Pemberley is plunged into a frightening mystery.
