Visiting Vroman's for the First Time

So...September 7th was not only Labor Day this year, but it was also my birthday. Yup, my birthday!

On that day, I celebrated like any bookworm would...I visited a bookstore!

Now, I didn't visit any bookstore. I decided to go somewhere special. I decided to go to a place that I've never been and has been on my bucket list.

I visited Vroman's Bookstore in Pasadena!

Vroman's Bookstore is Southern California's oldest and largest independent bookstore. It was founded in 1894 by Adam Clark Vroman. According to the website...

"Vroman’s is also famous for its world class author signings and events. The store hosts over 400 free community events a year including children’s storytimes, trivia nights, craft classes, bake-offs, and special launch parties, and has hosted such authors as President Bill Clinton, President Jimmy Carter, Irving Stone, Upton Sinclair, Ray Bradbury, David Sedaris, Salman Rushdie, Walter Mosely, Joan Didion, Barbara Walters, Anne Rice, Neil Gaiman, and Justice Sonia Sotomayor."

I've heard from many people that I should go visit Vroman's, and I've always enjoyed their book stands over at LA Times Festival of Books every year.  I was thrilled that I finally made the 45 minute journey to visit the bookstore.

Summer time is usually hard for me because I don't get paid, which means I hardly have any money. However, my stepdad treated me by giving me moola just so I could buy to my heart's content anything at Vroman's. I was so thrilled and grateful.

These are the few things about for myself:

The famous P&P tote

The book I needed from Neal Shusterman and a book about my favorite artist, Frida Kahlo

Vroman's was a wonderful place to visit. I'm going to keep a look out for their famous author book signings. I hope to visit it very soon again!

Make sure you visit Vroman's Bookstore website.

    1. Thank you, Chica! By the way, I love my bag! I am very surprised on how much weight it can hold. So far, it's my school book back, which means I am carrying my text as well as my laptop. I hope the bag doesn't die on me with my abuse.

  4. Ladies...I could have sworn I have commented back to you already but I didn't see my comments posted. Did I just dreamed that I did or am I losing my mind? Oh well, I commented again just to be sure you all knew that I do care about your comments.
