Teaser Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by Should Be Reading.
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
Quote #1:
"Never do anything by halves if you want to get away with it. Be outrageous. Go the whole hog. Make sure everything you do is so completely crazy it's unbelievable...”
Quote #2
“So Matilda’s strong young mind continued to grow, nurtured by the voices of all those authors who had sent their books out into the world like ships on the sea. These books gave Matilda a hopeful and comforting message: You are not alone.”
Quote #3
"With frightening suddenness he now began ripping the pages out of the book in handfuls and throwing them in the waste-paper basket.
Matilda froze in horror."

Just finished this audio and has become a new favorite. I can't believe it took me this long to read (or listen) this book. The movie was one of my favorites when I was younger. I will be posting an audiobook and movie review later on in the day.
My daughter loves Roald Dahl. Thanks for those teasers. We haven't read this one yet.

Dahl is such a fantastic writer! I love the quotations.
ReplyDeleteI've always heard great things about this author but have never read any of his books. I'll be sure to remedy that as my granddaughter gets older (if not sooner!)
ReplyDeleteMy Teaser is from THINGS WE SET ON FIRE.
It has been forever since I read a Roald Dahl book! Great teasers!
