Friday Hops, 6/7/13

This hop is hosted by Billy over at Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer. Every week participants answer a question and then visit other blogs participating. The purpose of the hop is to give bloggers the chance to meet new bloggers, get to know one another better, and get new followers. This week's question is:

What is your favorite trilogy (series)?

A: I can't just choose one. My favorites that I finished reading are: The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, The Skinjacker Series, The Last Survivors Series, The Hunger Games, and The Graveyard Queen Series.

Book Beginnings on Friday is hosted by Rose City Reader and The Friday 56 is hosted at Freda's Voice.

Yours Affectionately Jane Austen by Sally Smith O'Rourke

The beginning: "TORCH flames danced in the still summer night as liveried footmen ran ahead to light the way for the beautifully restored horse-drawn carriages. Gravel crunched under the wheels as the remaining guests of this year’s Rose Ball made their way to the gates of Pemberley Farms. It was meant to look like a scene from the past, and Eliza Knight had no doubt that it did. "

Page 56: "Darcy’s stallion had been the finest specimen of horse flesh he had ever seen. But a spy? What in heaven’s name would the man have been spying on in Hampshire? There certainly had been no reason to believe that the Hampshire countryside had suddenly become a hotbed of political intrigue. No, although he could explain nothing of the man he was sure Darcy was no spy."

My Thoughts: I'm not too far into this book but it's pretty good so far. I like how it tries to stay true to Jane Austen's world.

Thanks for stopping by guys. I am having a giveaway for my One Year Blogiversary! Please make sure you pass by to enter :)

  8. I love Alan Bradley's Flavia de Luce series, as well as the Stephanie Plum books. Nothing too deep here, but real life has enough of that. Will have to give "Yours Affectionately, Jane Austen" a try.

  12. I totally forgot when I did my post that LOTR is a trilogy or that would have been MY choice! I went for The Hunger Games. I never finished the Restorer series, but I definitely need to! Great choices!

  13. The Lord of the Rings is probably my favourite trilogy as well. Recent trilogies I've really enjoyed have been Midnighters and Leviathan, both by Scott Westerfeld. I almost forgot another older favourite - C.S. Lewis's Cosmic Trilogy.

  14. Somehow or the other I haven't read Lord of the Rings trilogy.

The Jane Austen spin-off seems interesting.

I quite like your blog. Going to have a look.
