Yesterday was Bookstore Romance Day and I had so much fun! I didn't participate all day but I was able to check out a few independent bookstores around the U.S., learn about different authors and books, and attend two virtual author events.
The first author event that I attended was...
This event was hosted by Loyalty Bookstores in Washington D.C. and the four authors were Jasmine Guillory, Andie J. Christopher, Tif Marcelo, and Farrah Rochoni. This one was super fun! I highly enjoyed their discussion about how they got into romance writing, black romance and publishing, Filipino authors, difficulty writing as a person of color, and other various topics. These women were funny and got along with each other very well. Because of their personalities and how easy the conversation flowed between one another, it made me eager to check out their books. My TBR pile has increased tremendously!
The other virtual event that I attended was...
This event was hosted by Love's Sweet Arrow in Illinois and it featured Sonali Dev, Diana Quincy, Alysa Cole, and Jennifer Estep. This one was more of a Q & A instead of a discussion between the authors. They answered questions about their writing process, if they read/listened to their own books, how their culture/childhood inspired their writing, what other genres they would like to write, and what books they recommend to readers. Again, listening to these authors made me add their books to my TBR list.
Well, that was super fun! I am looking forward to next year.
Did you attend the event? If so, which author panels did you listen to?
thanks so much for sharing. glad you had a good time
