Friday Hops, December 21st!

It's the end of the world!!!! Wait...I'm still here...Does that mean I still have to pay my bills? :/

Well, let's do some Friday hops!

Follow Friday is a feature created by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read. It's a fun blog hop where you meet other book bloggers and find people to follow. It's also another great way to earn new followers.

This week's question:

What have you learned from book blogging that you didn't know before about the publishing industry?

Oh my, I had no idea that bloggers play a big role in promoting books for authors and publishers. I thought that book blogging was just one way of sharing one's interest in books and their thoughts on certain books. I never came to realize that authors and publishers seek book bloggers to read the published or soon to be published books and ask for reviews or tour stops to be made on the book blogger's blog.

Also, I had no idea that you can easily contact authors and publishers to request review copies or simply communicate with them. This helps build a relationship between the blogger and the author/publisher to help promote the book.

Book Blogger Hop is the creation of Jen from Crazy for Books. Since October, the weekly hop has been hosted by a variety of bloggers. This week it is hosted by Tea Time with Marce.

Q: What book were you determined to read this year and you still didn't pick up? Is it at least on your bookshelf or ereader?

*Sigh* Yes, I have a few books that I was hoping to read this year but never got to, and they still remain on my shelf dusting away:

These books are high on my list for 2013 and I better get them read!

  3. Yeah I've learned that last bit too! Of course there's not always something that can be done, but I love it when authors really try to go to the limits in helping! I cannot remember which book or author it was, but I was trying to get an ARC, didn't really happen, but then later on they sent me a completed copy to review! Wish I could remember which book that was, but it was soooo looooong ago!

    Here's my Follow Friday

    Have a GREAT weekend!
